Officials said security agencies had shared specific inputs that Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)-backed operatives planned to retrieve explosive material hidden in the border belt. Acting on information that two suspects were heading on a motorcycle to pick up an IED concealed near the border, the police intercepted and arrested them.

According to reports, a grenade was allegedly thrown in front of the City Police Station in Gurdaspur on the evening of November 25, just hours before Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Mann was scheduled to visit the district to inaugurate a sugar mill, in Gurdaspur district. The incident triggered an explosion, even as the police went into overdrive to deny that it had occurred. The explosion reportedly injured the wife of a local BJP leader after a splinter struck her, though a police claimed she was hurt “due to some other reason and not due to the blast.” Later, terrorist outfit, Khalistan Liberation Army (KLA) claimed responsibility in a social media post, warning that such attacks would continue unless the “Hindu community stopped speaking against Khalistan.” Police, however, questioned the authenticity of the claim, calling it “fake,” and said they were verifying the contents of a related video. Sources suggested that officials were downplaying the incident to prevent panic among residents.

Delhi Police on November 25 arrested a key conspirator in the three firing incidents outside comedian Kapil Sharma’s ‘Kap’s Café’ in Surrey, Canada, identified as Bandhu Maan Singh Sekhon, and seized a PX-3 semi-automatic pistol of Chinese make and eight cartridges from his vehicle in Ludhiana in Ludhiana district. Sekhon, allegedly provided logistical support to the shooters involved in the attacks. He had travelled to Canada on an employment visa in 2023, became a member of the Goldy Dhillon gang, and fled to India after Surrey Police arrested several of his associates in August 2025. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) in Delhi, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Sekhon’s arrest followed the capture of two members of gangster Sonu Khatri — Mandeep Singh and Dalvinder Kumar — in Rohini, along with Turkish and Chinese-made pistols. The duo disclosed that one weapon from the consignment had been delivered to Sekhon, confirming his role in the interstate and cross-border arms network linked to Khatri, who currently operates from the United States (US).

Delhi Police’s Special Cell has dismantled a Pakistan-backed terror–gangster module run by Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)-linked handler Shahzad Bhatti, arresting three associates from Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh (UP) who were involved in the November 25 grenade attack outside the Gurdaspur city police station, Punjab. Those arrested include Vikas Prajapati from Datia, Madhya Pradesh on November 26; Hargunpreet Singh from Firozpur, Punjab on November 29; and Asif from Bijnor, UP on November 30. Police seized a pistol, 10 live cartridges, reconnaissance videos, chats, and voice notes from them. According to Delhi Police, the trio admitted their role in the Gurdaspur grenade attack, stating that one carried out the throw while the others provided logistical support. The module had “multiple targets,” and the reconnaissance locations will be shared with Punjab Police. Police said all members of the network have now been identified, preventing further attacks. Sources also confirmed that gangster Anmol Bishnoi, currently in NIA custody, was among the module’s intended targets.

Punjab Government has denied parole to Khadoor Sahib Member of Parliament (MP) Amritpal Singh, who is detained under the National Security Act (NSA) in Dibrugarh jail, Assam, for attending the winter session of Parliament from December 1 to 19. Secretariat sources said the government, relying on reports from the Amritsar Deputy Commissioner and the district police chief, cited potential law and order concerns as the reason for rejecting his request.

Singh alleged that Kaur disappeared after arriving in Pakistan and was likely a “spy.” He further claimed that, despite her alleged criminal record, the Indian Government had granted her clearance to travel.

Canadian news channel CTV News has come under fire for giving a platform to Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, chief of the Khalistani outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), who displayed a poster on air reading “NO Hindi,” “NO Hindutva,” and “NO Hindustan.” Hindu groups accused the network of broadcasting explicit anti-Hindu messaging without challenge. The Hindu Canadian Foundation said CTV News had given a national platform to “hate speech and propaganda,” adding that the network had “inadvertently amplified hate speech that fosters division, spreads misinformation, and incites hostility toward Hindu Canadians.” The group has called on the broadcaster to explain how such messaging was allowed to air unchallenged.
