Arvinder Singh Tainy, a prominent activist of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), who had escaped from PGI Chandigarh on February 25, 1992 while being taken for treatment, was killed along with his wife in an encounter in Khanna. Two civilians were also killed in the incident.
