Police on June 18 arrested Sher Shah, the prime suspect in the double murder of a Sikh caretaker couple who were shot dead at a gurdwara in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan on June 17. According to police, investigations have so far found no evidence linking the accused to any banned outfit, terrorist organisation, or organised network.

The Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police, in a joint operation, on June 19 arrested an alleged cross-border smuggler, Rohan Khosla and seized a large cache of arms and ammunition, including an AK-47 assault rifle, 25 foreign-made pistols, 368 live cartridges, 48 magazines, and a USA-made bulletproof vest, near the International Border in the Ajnala-Ramdas sector of Amritsar district.. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused was allegedly acting on the directions of an Australia-based associate who shared the weapon drop location through a social media application. According to BSF sources, intelligence inputs had indicated that the consignment would be collected from a drone-dropping zone and transported in a white car, prompting the deployment of multiple checkpoints and ambushes in the area.

Punjab Police has secured the deportation from Malaysia of two wanted operatives linked to the banned Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), identified as Gurwinder Singh and Manjeet Singh, and the duo was apprehended by Punjab Police at IGI Airport in New Delhi upon arrival and subsequently brought to Punjab for further investigation. They are accused of targeting critical railway infrastructure, including the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) lines in the state. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav stated that the accused played a key role in channelling terror funds through offshore accounts to KZF operatives in Punjab and facilitating plans to carry out terrorist attacks aimed at disturbing peace and public order. Their deportation follows the dismantling of a terror module allegedly involved in the January 23 IED blast on the Sirhind railway track and the attempted explosion on the same track near Shambhu in Patiala on April 27. Four allegedly radicalised individuals had earlier been arrested in connection with the case.

The incident briefly caused panic before venue security personnel and local police intervened, restrained the individual, and took him into custody. Dosanjh continued his performance during the disruption and resumed entertaining the audience after the protester was removed. The incident occurred amid reports of online threats and attempts by hardline pro-Khalistan elements, including supporters of Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), to target Dosanjh over his appearances in mainstream Indian media.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused were acting on the directions of foreign-based handlers and were involved in planning and executing multiple firing incidents in Jalandhar and Nawanshahr districts. Police alleged that the gang had fired at the BNS Fashions showroom in Santokhpura the previous week and had demanded INR 500000 in extortion from its owner, Lakshay Verma.

Preliminary investigations revealed links between the arrested duo and Navjot Singh alias Neetu, an alleged Arsh Dalla gang operative currently lodged in Central Jail, Faridkot. According to police, a production warrant has been obtained for Neetu, and further disclosures are expected during his interrogation.
