Punjab police on June 3 arrested a man, identified as Gagandeep Singh for sharing information about Indian Army movements during Operation Sindoor with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and seized a mobile phone containing intelligence he shared with Pakistani intelligence operatives (PIOs), as well as details of over 20 ISI contacts, in Tarn Taran city, Tarn Taran district. It was also revealed that Gagandeep Singh was in contact with Pakistan-based Khalistani leader Gopal Singh Chawla.

In a letter to BC Premier David Eby, KDS emphasized that the families of the victims "deserve more than silence" and urged the creation of a lasting space for reflection and education. The proposed centre is intended not only as a memorial but also as a reminder of the dangers of extremism and a commitment to justice and reconciliation.

According to sources, a Sikh man identified as Dalvinder Singh was recently forced to remove his kirpan and turban and suffered humiliation in custody, including the forced removal of religious symbols, poor detention conditions, and deportation without his turban in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Singh, an Amritdhari Sikh from Kaithal, Haryana, was detained during a group tour after police questioned him about his kirpan during a visit to the BAPS Temple.

On June 3, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that 49-year-old Indian-American Bhushan Athale was sentenced to 26 months in prison by the Camden Federal Court in Camden, New Jersey, for making violent, hate-filled threats against employees of a Sikh non-profit organization. A resident of Dallas, Athale pleaded guilty to a federal hate crime and to transmitting interstate threats targeting individuals based on their religion. He had a documented history of making inflammatory, religion-based remarks, including expressions of hatred toward Sikhs and Muslims. In addition to his prison sentence, he was sentenced to three years of supervised release and prohibited from contacting his victims.

Officials confirmed on June 4 that Punjab Police arrested 10 individuals during a month-long crackdown on an alleged espionage network linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Those arrested include Gagandeep Singh (Tarn Taran), Jasbir Singh alias Jaan Mahal (Rupnagar), Guzala and Yameen Mohammad (Malerkotla), Neeraj Kumar (Pathankot), Rakib (Bathinda), Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh (Gurdaspur), along with two unidentified suspects. Intelligence inputs also aided the arrest of six additional suspects in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Sources revealed that the operation, based on extensive human and technical surveillance, uncovered connections between several accused and YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was previously arrested in Haryana. Senior officials emphasized that real-time intelligence sharing between Punjab Police, central intelligence agencies, and other state police forces was crucial in exposing the ISI-backed network threatening national security.
