The Pro-Damdami Taksal group of SAD (Mann), led by Captain H.S. Rode and Bhai Jasvir Singh Rode, staged a revolt against the leadership of S.S. Mann for joining SAD (Amritsar). They decided to maintain a separate entity.

The International Centre of Sikh Thought organized a function in Patiala to honor Harinder Singh Khalsa, a former IFS officer and former Secretary of SGPC. He was presented with the "Sanman Patra" for his courageous acts of resigning as a diplomat in protest against Operation Blue Star and as Secretary of SGPC due to the irregularities within the organization.
