'Delhi will become Khalistan': 9 schools get bomb threat emails

Nine schools in the national capital received bomb threat emails on Monday morning, triggering immediate action by the Delhi Police and emergency responses.

The threatening email mentioned “Delhi will become Khalistan,” the police said. “Schoolan Vich Aaj Dhamaka 1:11 pm hovega (there will be a bomb blast in schools at 1:11 pm),” the mail read.

The email also mentioned that a bomb will explode in the Parliament on February 13 at 1:11 pm. “Hindu-Stani Parliament Vich BmB ChaleGa, 13 February at 1:11PM Hovega,” it further read.

The email also mentions that “Punjab has already become Khalistan”. “Punjab hui Khalistan,” it read.

Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar have been termed as enemy of Khalistan. “Modi-Shah-Jaishankar Walian de Dushman,” the email alleged.

The sender mentions Khalistan National Army and identifies himself as Engineer Guranakh Singh Rukan Shahwala.

The police said bomb threat calls were received at nine schools across Delhi between 8:30 am and 9 am.

Following the threats, police personnel, fire teams and bomb disposal squads reached the affected schools and carried out thorough checks. However, nothing suspicious was found and the threats were declared hoax.

The schools that received the threatening emails or calls include Loreto Convent School, Delhi Cantt; Cambridge School, Srinivasanpuri; Venkateshwar School, Rohini; Cambridge School, NFC; and Bal Bharati School, Rohini; among others.

Amid repeated bomb threat emails to schools in the Capital, parents said recurring alerts were causing anxiety to children and their families, and disrupting routine school activities.

A father of a student from Air Force Bal Bharati School, Lodhi Road, said such incidents had become frequent and deeply unsettling for families.

“This has become so common that almost every month we get a call from the school and immediately start panicking. It affects our children mentally and also disturbs parents, who are called away from work in the middle of the day," he said.
