Police arrested one person, identified as Gautam alias Kali and recovered 35 grams of heroin and INR 50,000 drug money from him in Ferozepur district on May 17.
Police arrested a man, identified as Nirmal Singh and recovered 850 intoxicating tablets from his possession in Ferozepur district on May 17.
The Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) arrested five persons and recovered 300 kg of poppy husk from a truck parked near a school boundary wall in Behak Khas village in in Fazilka Tehsil in Firozepur district on May 17. The truck, accompanied by an SUV, was apprehended by the police, and the occupants attempted to flee but were apprehended.
Police arrested a man, identified as Jobanjeet Singh, for drug smuggling from Pakistan using drones and recovered with 2.6 kg of heroin, 2 kg of intoxicating powder, INR 7.40 lakh in drug money and a .32 bore pistol from Tarn Taran district on May 16. The police investigation revealed his connection with Pakistani smugglers, who used drones to drop heroin in Bharopal village and near Gharinda in Amritsar. The accused had been active in the smuggling business for approximately four years. Further investigation is ongoing to establish his network's links.
Police arrested a woman drug smuggler, identified as Kamaljit Kaur, and seized 5 grams of heroin and 1500 intoxicant tablets from her possession in Phagwara in Kapurthala district on May 14.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested two persons and seized 5.48 kg of heroin worth INR 38 crore at Attari in Amritsar district on May 12. The heroin was found hidden in a shipment of 4,000 brooms in around 40 bags, and was stashed in hollow bamboo sticks within three of the bags. The consignment was imported by an Afghan national using fake Indian identification documents, in connivance with his Indian national wife, who were both arrested.
Police arrested two drug peddlers, identified as Jaipal Singh and Gurbaj Singh and seized 2 kg of heroin from them in Ferozepur district on May 11.
Police on May 8 arrested five persons and recovered over 1 lakh intoxicating tablets in Jalalabad in Fazilka district.
The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 1.59 kg of heroin that was allegedly dropped in a village in Amritsar in Amritsar district on May 8.
The Punjab Police on May 6 conducted a massive raid involving 1200 personnel across 813 premises of 775 individuals involved in Excise Act violations, recovering 1470 kg Lahan, 403 bottles of illicit liquor, and 70 grams of heroin. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) also carried out search operations at 21 locations in Delhi and Gurugram, seizing INR 1.01 crore in cash and incriminating evidence in connection with Amira Pure Foods Pvt. Ltd. and Karan A Chanana under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA).
Punjab police on May 4 arrested 13 persons connected to cross-border smuggling, with links to Pakistani smugglers supported by ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence), and seized arms, ammunition, drugs and cash from them from different parts of Punjab. The Deputy Inspector General, Border Range, Narender Bhargav, said that police had arrested 13 smugglers and recovered 6 foreign-made pistols including one .32 bore, two Glocks, and three 30 bore, 7 magazines, 77 live rounds, 4.5 kg heroin and INR 32.5 lakh drug money from their possession. He said the arrest of the gang has not only disrupted the cross-border drug and arms smuggling operation but also prevented potential terrorist incidents in the border state. The seized arms, including Austrian Glocks, were brought into India through drones and traditional smuggling techniques. Most of the suspects were natives of border villages in Punjab.
The Border Security Force (BSF) on May 2 arrested two suspected drug smugglers, identified as Harjinder Pal Singh and Lovepreet Singh from near the Kaku Singh Wala border post in Abohar in Fazilka district. According to BSF, they were carrying out a reconnaissance mission to locate a suitable spot to receive a drug shipment from across the border.
The Garhshankar police arrested two smugglers and recovered drugs and liquor from their possession in Hoshiarpur district on May 2.

Mukerian police arrested a drug smuggler, identified as Sunil Kumar and seized 100 gm of heroin from him in Hoshiarpur district on May 2.
The Border Security Force (BSF) seized 2.5 kg of heroin that were dropped by a drone from Pakistan in Setha Wala village in Ferozepur district on May 1. The BSF recovered three packets of heroin, two sparkling balls, and a luminous blue LED bulb with battery attached to the consignment. This is the fifth incident of drug seizure in the past five days along the International Border in Punjab.

The suspects were found to have made phone calls to numbers in Pakistan and shared their location, but were arrested by BSF personnel.
