This development followed the earlier arrest of two Punjab-based drug smugglers, Hunny Basra from Palahi Gate in Phagwara and Sarabjit Singh from Ballan village in Kartarpur, who were arrested with 30 kg of cocaine in Jammu on October 1. Punjab police sources said that they were suspecting it to be an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)-linked case
The Border Security Force (BSF) on October 7 seized a drone along with 6.3 kg of heroin and a small packet containing 60 gm of opium from a field near the International Border in the Amritsar sector of Amritsar district.

The Special Task Force (STF) on October 4 arrested three individuals, identified as Avtar Singh, Joginder Singh and Gurvinder Singh and seized 100 grams of heroin from their possession in Mohali in Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar district. The accused allegedly sourced heroin from Amritsar for INR 2,000 per gram and sold it for INR 3,200 per gram in Mohali. Avtar had two prior drug smuggling cases in Amritsar, Punjab and Tarn Taran, Punjab, while Joginder had one drug case in Amritsar.

The Border Security Force (BSF) on October 2 intercepted a drone and recovered 2.7 kilograms of heroin and the drone, in a paddy field near Kalsian Khurd village in Tarn Taran district. The drone was a Chinese-made Quadcopter (Model – DJI Matrice 300 RTK).
The Anti-Narcotic cell of Police Commissionerate, in a joint operation with Counter Intelligence (CI) on October 1 arrested one person, identified as Kartar Singh and recovered 1.5 kg of opium from his possession in Kot Gangu Rai village in Ludhiana district.
The Border Security Force (BSF) on September 29 intercepted a drone and recovered 545 grams of heroin and the drone, near Rajatal village in Amritsar district. The recovered drone is China-made Quadcopter DJI Mavic-3 Classic.
Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Punjab Police on September 27 arrested three individuals identified as Gurcharan Singh alias Channa, Sukhdev Singh alias Sukha and Sunil Singh alias Lovely and recovered 1.872 kg of heroin from their possession near Saide ke village in Ferozepur district.
Punjab Police on September 27 arrested an individual identified as Jang Singh and seized 1,010 intoxicating tablets and drug money of INR 2.31 lakh from his possession in Guruharsahai in Ferozepur district.
Police arrested a man, identified as Lakhan Khosla and seized 70 grams of an intoxicating powder, most likely heroin, from his possession in Model Town in Hoshiarpur district on September 27.

Chabbewal Police on September 27 arrested two drug smugglers, identified as Vikramjeet and Sahil Bains and seized 260 grams of intoxicating powder from their possession in Chabbewal in Hoshiarpur district.
Nabha Police, on September 26, arrested two individuals, identified as panchayat secretary Deepak Garg and Navpreet Pal and seized around 3.5 kg of opium from their possession in Nabha in Patiala district. Garg is alleged to have smuggled around 60 kg of opium over the last two years, primarily sourced from Rajasthan.
Zirakpur police, along with the Special Task Force (STF) Mohali unit, on September 26 arrested two drug peddlers identified as Arun Kumar and Manjit Singh alias Meet and recovered 50 grams of heroin from their possession in Mohali in Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar district. The arrested individuals disclosed that they sourced the heroin from the Ferozepur border area for INR 2,000 per gram and sold it in Mohali for INR 3,200 per gram.
