Ludhiana police on November 24 arrested a drug peddler, identified as Vir Karan Singh and seized 135 grams of heroin, two country-made 0.32 bore pistols, three live cartridges and INR 10,000 drug money from his possession in Tibba in Ludhiana district. Singh, with a criminal history, including a murder case, had recently been released on bail and resumed drug peddling, prompting the police action.
Punjab Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) on November 22 recovered a black bag containing 5.2 kg of heroin dropped by a drone that sneaked into Indian airspace from Pakistan, from fields near Attari village in Amritsar district.

Police busted a hawala racket involved in making payments for drugs, by arresting nine individuals and seizing INR 14.55 lakh in drug money along with 110 grams of heroin, a pistol, five mobile phones, a dongle, and five vehicles from their possessions during a 10-day operation across Punjab. The arrested individuals are identified as Baldev Singh, Gurjant Singh, Tanvir Singh, Sandeep Singh, Jaswant Singh, Kuldeep, Bhagwan Singh, Yogesh, and Ajay. Further arrests are anticipated as the probe continues.

Police on November 18 arrested two motorcycle-borne individuals and seized 1.01 kg of heroin from their possession in Khalra in Tarn Taran district. The smugglers provided fake identification, introducing themselves as Jashanpreet Singh Jashan and Gurjant Singh. These identities were later discovered to be fake by the police during the court proceedings.
Jail authorities at Rupnagar district jail seized psychotropic drugs and six mobile phones from six inmates identified as Sunny, Manjinder Singh, Karan, Manoj, Gurdeep Singh, and Charandeep Singh during a routine check. The confiscated items included Alprazolam tablets, capsules, mobile phones, tobacco, and 'beedi.'
The Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police on November 18 arrested a shopkeeper, identified as Avtar Singh and seized 505 grams of heroin and INR 8.9 lakh in drug money from his house in Mohalla Nanakpura in Moga town in Moga district. The suspect allegedly sold the contraband from his shop.
Police on November 18 arrested two smugglers, identified as Sandeep Singh alias Suraj and Hardev Singh alias Ashu, and seized 115 grams of heroin, a digital weighing machine, and a scooter from their possession in Ludhiana in Ludhiana district.
Police on November 18 arrested one person, identified as Rajesh Kumar alias Raju and seized 1.5 kg of heroin from his possession in Jalandhar in Jalandhar district.

The Border Security Force (BSF) on November 15 recovered a packet of 500 grams of heroin and a Pakistani drone near Roranwala Khurd village in Amritsar district. The drone was identified as a DJI Mavic 3 Classic model, made in China.
The Special Task Force (Ludhiana range) on November 15 arrested an individual identified as Gurjant Singh alias Janta and seized 2.6 kg of heroin worth INR 13 crore along with a car near Jhande village in Ludhiana district.
Punjab Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) on November 13 arrested two drug smugglers, identified as Daljit Singh and Palwinder Singh, and seized 540 grams of heroin from their possession in Udhar Dhariwal village in Amritsar district. The accused revealed that the drug-smuggling module was orchestrated by Mann Bilawal Singh, a Canada-based smuggler, with the assistance of Pakistani counterparts. Mann Bilawal Singh, the alleged mastermind, is the nephew of Daljit Singh and the son of the former notorious smuggler Punjab Singh.
Police on November 11 arrested three drug peddlers, identified as Jobanjit Singh alias Joban, Lovepreet Singh alias Love and Gurjant Singh, and seized 51 grams of heroin along with two electronic scales and a motorcycle from their possession in Chheharta in Amritsar district.
The Border Security Police (BSF) on November 7 arrested an unidentified drug smuggler and seized 1 kg of heroin and two motorcycles from his possession in Bachhiwind village in Amritsar district. The BSF intercepted a drone on the night of November 7-8, leading to the discovery. During a joint search operation with the Punjab Police, conducted on November 8 morning recovered the heroin from fields near Bachhiwind village.
The Border Security Forces (BSF) on November 6 recovered a drone along with 250 grams of heroin from the fields adjacent to Roranwala Khurd village in Amritsar district.
Police on November 6 arrested a drug smuggler, identified as Harpal Singh, and seized 3.770 kg of heroin from him near Khemkaran village in Tarn Taran district. During the arrest, the police found 610 grams of heroin in his possession and recovered an additional 3.160 kg of heroin from the nearby fields of farmer Somjit Singh based on Harpal Singh’s disclosure.
Punjab police on November 5 arrested two drug smugglers, identified as Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh and Rajpreet Singh alias Raj, and seized 2 kg of heroin and a Mahindra Scorpio SUV from their possession in Chohla Sahib in Tarn Taran district. The arrests followed a 40 km hot chase from Bhikhiwind to Chohla Sahib, during which one of the suspects was injured while attempting to escape from the moving vehicle.
