The Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested an unidentified man on October 6 and recovered 2 kg of cocaine along with a Toyota Fortuner car from a village near Amritsar in Amritsar district. This follows a major drug bust on October 2, during which over 562 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana were seized in Delhi. The accused was reportedly planning to flee the country and had links to Jitender Pal Singh Gill, an associate of the alleged kingpin Virender Basoiya. The raid on October 6 was based on information received from Jitender Pal Singh. Investigations revealed a plan to smuggle an additional 100 kg of cocaine into Punjab, with further arrests pending based on documented evidence.
The Border Security Force (BSF), on October 5, following a tip-off, recovered a packet containing 568 grams of heroin from farming fields near Dal Village in Tarn Taran district.
Police on October 5 arrested a senior constable of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) for allegedly attempting to smuggle 120 grams of narcotic powder into Amritsar Central Jail and also booked an inmate, identified as Jadish Singh alias Jagga, for possessing a keypad phone with a SIM card in Amritsar district. Jail staff had received a tip-off about the constable's involvement in supplying narcotics. Following a complaint lodged by Nareshpal, Assistant Superintendent of the Jail, Islamabad police registered a case under Section 22-B of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Section 42 of the Prisons Act against both individuals.
Punjab Police on October 4 arrested two operatives, identified as Sukhdeep Singh alias Raja and Krishan, while busting an international drug trafficking syndicate and seized 1.5 kg of heroin along with a Hyundai Aura (HR 12 AT 7091) car from their possession in Derabassi, Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar district. The accused were part of a network smuggling heroin in jackets, sourced from an Afghan national based in Delhi. The police are currently seeking to arrest Lakhwinder Singh, the key figure in the syndicate, and further investigations are ongoing.
The Border Security Force (BSF) troops, in a joint operation with Punjab Police on October 3 recovered one packet of heroin weighing 550 grams from fields adjacent to Daoke village in Amritsar district.
Border Security Force (BSF) troops on October 2 recovered three packets of heroin weighing 1.823 kg from fields near Wan village in Tarn Taran district. Although the suspects escaped before the troops arrived, the heroin, suspected to have been dropped by a drone, was found wrapped in yellow tape with an improvised copper wire loop attached.
Police on October 1 arrested three drug smugglers identified as Sukhchain Singh alias Kala Suro, Amritpal Singh alias Pal, and Harman Singh, seizing 175 grams of heroin, INR 1.2 lakh in drug money, a Swift car, and a Scorpio car from their possession near the Mor Kale Ghanupur bypass near Chheharta in Amritsar district.
The Chheharta police on October 1 arrested a drug smuggler identified as Narinder Singh, and seized 100 grams of heroin and INR 2,690 in drug money from his possession in Chheharta, Amritsar district.
The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) of Punjab Police on September 29 busted a cross-border drug smuggling racket and seized 6 kg of heroin, 67 live cartridges, 2 magazines, 6 mobile phones in Jaffarpur village in Gurdaspur district. The operation was based on reliable intelligence regarding a local drug peddler's involvement in narcotics and weapons smuggling from Pakistan. During the raid, the accused managed to flee after discarding a bag containing the contraband.
On September 29, the Border Security Force (BSF) arrested two individuals, identified as Sukhdev and Kulwinder Singh and seized 550 grams of heroin along with a China-made pistol, one magazine and four live cartridges from their possession, near Tahliwala village in Fazilka district. The suspects reportedly fired shots at BSF personnel while attempting to pick up a consignment of heroin from near the India-Pakistan border.
The Crime Branch III of Ludhiana Police on September 28 arrested a youth, identified as Ganesh Singh and seized 265 grams of heroin from his possession near Decent School in Ludhiana in Ludhiana district.
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) staff from Khanna, along with Samrala Police, on September 28 dismantled a drug supply chain by arresting a smuggler identified as Mohammad Ali and seizing 10 bags of poppy husk, weighing nearly 199 kg, from his possession near Urna village in Ludhiana district. The drugs were concealed under apple crates in a pickup jeep, smuggled from Himachal Pradesh (HP).
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) 2 of the Ludhiana Police Commissionerate on September 27 arrested a drug peddler, identified as Harmandeep Singh and seized 150 grams of heroin and a car from his possession on Kohara-Machhiwara road near Kohara village in Ludhiana district.
Punjab Police and the Border Security Force (BSF), in a joint operation on September 26, recovered over 501 grams of heroin near Dal village in Tarn Taran district. The drugs are suspected to have been smuggled via drone from across the border. While four suspects fled the scene, two have been identified, and investigations are ongoing.

The Jalandhar Rural Police on September 24 arrested two smugglers, identified as Roshan Lal and Narinder Singh, and seized 1.2 kg of opium from their possession near Kamalpur village in Jalandhar district. The accused had procured the opium from Jharkhand, with Narinder acting as the courier, transporting the drugs via train for delivery to Roshan’s customers.
The Jalandhar Rural Police on September 23 busted a drug racket being operated from within jail and arrested two individuals for drug smuggling, identified as Amandeep Singh and Mandeep Singh, and seized 3 kg of opium from their possession, near Alawalpur in Jalandhar district. During interrogation, the accused revealed that the drug operation was being coordinated by ringleaders from within the jail.
