Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Border Range on July 19 arrested one United Kingdom (UK) returnee, identified as Prabhjit Singh and seized 15.4 kg of heroin from his possession, near Chheharta in Amritsar district. Police revealed that Prabhjit was acting on the directions of Pakistan based smuggler identified as Chacha alias Rana. Investigations revealed that Prabhjit came in contact with Chacha through Gurlal Singh, a known drug peddler from his village who is now deceased. Police are probing both backward and forward linkages in the case.
Border Security Force (BSF) troops on July 18 intercepted a drone and recovered 596 grams of heroin and the drone from fields near Roranwala Khurd village in Amritsar district. The drone was a DJI Mavic 3 Classic model.

On July 17, Punjab Police, on day 138 of its ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, registered 81 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 113 drug smugglers and seized 1.5 kg of heroin, 5 kg of opium, and 31,237 intoxicant pills from their possession across Punjab. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested in 138 days of the campaign has reached 22,377.

The Border Security Force (BSF) in a joint operation with Ferozepur Police on July 17 arrested three individuals, identified as Jaswinder Singh, Krishan Singh alias Lala and Varinder Singh and seized 1.916 kg of heroin, a foreign-made drone fitted with dual remote controls, multiple mobile phones, a weighing scale, and a motorcycle from their possession, in Fateh Wala alias Jallo Ke village in Ferozepur district. Jaswinder Singh was arrested first, and based on information provided by him, Krishan and Varinder were arrested.

On July 15, Punjab Police, on day 136 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 75 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 97 drug smugglers and seized 8.3 kg of heroin, 507 grams of opium, from their possession, across Punjab.

On July 14, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) team of Punjab Police arrested one individual, identified as Rohit Kumar alias Thuthi and seized 22 grams of narcotic powder from his possession, near Ferroze Gandhi Market in Ludhiana district.
On July 14, Punjab Police on day 135 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign registered 72 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 109 drug smugglers and seized 2.7 kg of heroin, 1.5 kg of opium, 42 kg of poppy husk and INR 7.18 lakh drug money from their possession, across Punjab.
Punjab Police on July 14 arrested two individuals, identified as Surjit Singh and Tarun Kumar Sharma, and seized 52 grams of ICE (methamphetamine) and a SUV car from their possession, near Handesra village in Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar district. Police stated that the accused had procured ICE from Delhi and Noida with the intention of selling them in Punjab.
Police on July 13 arrested one individual, identified as Jaswinder Singh and seized 407 grams of heroin along with a drone battery and two propeller blades, from his possession, in Sukhwinder Singh Wali Basti village in Ferozepur district. According to the Police, the consignment was allegedly dropped via drone from across the border.
On July 13, Punjab Police, on day 134 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 93 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 113 drug smugglers and seized 4.2 kg of heroin, 500 grams of ganja, 120 kg of poppy husk and INR 24,210 drug money from their possession, across Punjab.
