On July 31, Punjab Police on day 152 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 79 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 101 drug smugglers and seized 778 grams of heroin, 17 quintals of poppy husk, 18,671 intoxicant tablets/capsules and INR 44,710 drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers across Punjab.
Police on July 31 arrested two smugglers, identified as Gurjant Singh alias Bolla and Kailash Kumar, and seized 1,700 kg of poppy husk, near Bhinder Kalan village in Moga tehsil in Moga district.
Punjab Police on July 29 busted an inter-state racket of drug suppliers, arrested two smugglers identified as Ravi and Harpreet Singh, and seized 1 kg of heroin from their possession, in Sangrur in Sangrur district.
On July 29, Punjab Police, on day 150 of its “Yudh Nashian De Virudh” campaign, registered 53 First Information Reports (FIRs), arrested 72 drug smugglers and seized 3.4 kg of heroin from the possession across Punjab.
On the intervening night of July 27-28, Border Security Force (BSF) troops neutralised drones and recovered 1.150 kg heroin, one pistol along with six drones, from fields near Pulmoran village in Amritsar district. The recovered drones were three DJI Mavic and three DJI Classic models.

Chheharta police on July 25 arrested one smuggler, identified as Sarbjit alias Joban, along with a juvenile and seized 1 kg heroin from their possession, from Chheharta Sahib in Amritsar district. Police revealed that Sarbjit was in direct contact with notorious Pakistani smuggler Rana.
Amritsar police on July 25 arrested two smugglers, identified as Dharam Singh and Kulbir Singh and seized 6.1 kg of heroin and two bikes from their possession, in Ajnala in Amritsar district.
Counter Intelligence Amritsar on July 25 arrested four smugglers, identified as Manpreet Singh and Ajaypal Singh, Ranjit Singh and Karan Masih, and seized 4 kg of heroin from their possession near Kathania village in Amritsar district.
Punjab Police on July 24 arrested two unidentified drug smugglers and seized 15 kg of heroin and illegal firearms following an encounter near Kapurthala in Kapurthala district. Police indicated possible links to a Pakistan-backed international drug trafficking syndicate.
Border Security Force (BSF) troops on July 23 neutralised five drones and recovered four packets containing 1.07 kg of heroin, three pistols and three magazines, near Mode village in Amritsar district. The drones were China made DJI Mavic 3 Classic model.
On July 22, Punjab Police, on day 143 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign registered 74 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 103 drug smugglers and seized 544 grams of heroin and INR 11,860 drug money from their possession, across Punjab.
Border Security Force (BSF) troops on July 22 recovered two packets of heroin weighing 1.130 kg along with two drones from fields near Dhanoe Kalan village in Amritsar district. The recovered drones were DJI Mavic 3 Classic model.
Police on July 22 arrested Charanjit Kaur, mother of inmate Harpreet Singh, and Veerpal Kaur, his wife, and seized 35 grams of heroin from their possession, in Faridkot in Faridkot district. The heroin was found concealed in clothes they brought for Harpreet during a visit to Faridkot Central Jail.

Police on July 21 arrested two individuals, identified as Viney Kumar alias Mithu and Major Singh, and seized 1 kg of heroin, 2 illegal pistols and two cartridges from their possession, near Kot Kalan village in Jalandhar district. Viney Kumar was apprehended first, and subsequent interrogation revealed Major Singh’s involvement in the case.
On July 21, Punjab Police, on day 142 of “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 66 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 82 drug smugglers and seized 2.9 kg of heroin and INR 21,530 drug money from their possession, across Punjab.
Border Security Force (BSF), in a joint operation with Punjab Police on July 20 recovered one large packet of heroin weighing 3.700 kg and a drone, from fields near Shekhpura village in Tarn Taran district. The recovered drone was a DJI Matrice 300 RTK model.
Lopoke Police on July 20 arrested a drug peddler, identified as Gurwinder Singh, and seized 490 grams of heroin from his possession near Lopoke village in Amritsar district. Preliminary investigation suggests the contraband was smuggled from Pakistan, and further probe is underway to trace his backward and forward linkages.
On July 20, Punjab Police, on day 141 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 75 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 110 drug smugglers and seized 1.4 kg of heroin and 15 kg of poppy husk from their possession, across Punjab. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 22,764.
On July 19, Punjab Police, on day 140 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 64 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 86 drug smugglers and recovered 1.5 kg of heroin and INR 45,700 drug money from their possession, across Punjab.
