On the evening of December 1, 1992, a group of Khalistani militants boarded a passenger bus (PB-12A-8609) and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of 17 passengers and injuries to several others in Sidhwan Khurd, located in the Jagraon District of Punjab. The militants demanded that the bus move towards Sidhwan College and continued to shoot indiscriminately at the passengers. The attackers were identified as Mohan Singh, Pawandeep Singh, Gurmail Singh, and Manjeet Singh. They were subsequently killed in separate encounters with security forces.
