On July 7, 1987 militants of Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) massacred 34 bus passengers near Dariyapur village in Fatehabad District of Haryana. Five militants were involved in the massacre, of which two had boarded the bus earlier. The massacre commenced after three other militants interdicted the bus about 12 kilometers from Fatehabad and drove it to a location near Dariyapur. All the Khalistani militants were clean shaven, in the mid-20’s and used automatic rifles of Chinese origin to execute the attacks. The victims were mostly non-Sikhs.

After the killing, the militants moved towards Fatehabad after killing a driver and stealing his car. Militants then stopped another passenger bus and fired upon the bus killing four passengers. They then ditched the car and escaped in a truck, which was found in Marianwala village in Gurudaspur District.
