An industrialist named Sambhav Jain was kidnapped on November 17 by five individuals, two of whom were identified as Ravi and Mohit, in Laddu Colony, an industrial area at Noorwala village in the Ludhiana district. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of INR 5 crore. During the abduction, Jain attempted to escape, resulting in a bullet injury to his thigh and physical assault. Subsequently, the kidnappers threw him out of the moving car and fled without receiving the ransom. Jain is currently undergoing treatment, and the police are investigating the incident, filing charges against the two identified individuals, Ravi and Mohit, as well as others.

A delegation from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on November 16 met with Governor Banwarilal Purohit in Chandigarh to seek the release of nine Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentences. Led by President Harjinder Singh Dhami, the SGPC submitted a memorandum and 26 lakh proformas collected through a signature campaign to highlight the public demand for the prisoners' release. The delegation also urged the governor to address concerns about potential distortion in the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925, by the Punjab Government. Dhami emphasized that the discrimination against Sikh prisoners constitutes a violation of human rights.
