Amritsar Police, in a joint operation with a central agency, on June 25 busted a cross-border arms, narcotics, and hawala network and arrested seven accused, including an Afghan national and a juvenile, and recovered 10 sophisticated weapons (including two sub-machine guns), 5.048 kg of heroin, and INR 3038000 in hawala cash, in Amritsar district. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused were in contact with foreign-based handlers through social media, receiving consignments of narcotics and illegal arms for distribution to criminal elements.

The Bathinda Police, in a joint operation with the Counter Intelligence Wing, on June 25, claimed to have solved the June 22 petrol bomb attack on a homoeopathic clinic near the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office by arresting two accused, Nikhil Kumar and Gurwinder Singh, in Bathinda district. A third accused, Sandeep Singh, remains absconding, while the National Investigation Agency (NIA) began probing the case on June 24. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused—school dropouts and daily-wage labourers with no prior criminal record—were promised INR 3,000 each to carry out the attack, though they were never paid. Police suspect that Sandeep Singh was linked to a criminal network.

Delhi Police's Special Cell on June 25 arrested two alleged associates of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Haqeeqat and Sagar, following a brief exchange of fire in Paschim Vihar, New Delhi. The duo, who had been absconding since the June 11 firing outside Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa's gym, were arrested in connection with the incident. With their arrest, all four accused in the case are now in custody.

Jalandhar Police on June 25 arrested three individuals, Sachin Khosla, Bharat Verma alias Sunny, and Pardeep Singh, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for allegedly sharing sensitive information on government buildings and other strategic locations with Pakistan-based operatives through social media and messaging applications, in Jalandhar district. Police said the information was passed to Pakistan-based gangster Shehzaz Bhatti, an alleged Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) henchman and Hamas Gujjar. The arrests underscore the continuing presence of espionage networks in Punjab linked to Pakistan's intelligence establishment, with Bhatti repeatedly emerging as an alleged handler in recent spying, grenade attack, and other terror-related cases in the State.

On June 24, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) initiated an investigation into the June 22 petrol bomb attack on a homoeopathic clinic located on Mela Ram Road, opposite the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Bathinda district. According to clinic owner Dr. Tarsem Garg, an NIA team comprising a Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and two inspectors visited the premises and collected details related to the incident. Reports indicate that nearly two hours after the attack, Dr. Garg’s wife, Dr. Rajni Jindal, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate in the recent municipal council elections, received a WhatsApp call from a foreign number. The caller allegedly identified himself as Pakistan-based terrorist Shahzad Bhatti and subsequently sent messages introducing himself and saying “Hi”.

The investigation into the murder of Sanjay Shukla, manager of the Badopatti toll plaza on the Hisar–Sirsa National Highway in Haryana, has taken a new turn after a social media account allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the killing. Police said they are verifying the authenticity of the post and an accompanying audio clip. The post, uploaded from an account operating under the name “Anil Pandit,” alleged that Shukla was assisting a rival gang and warned of similar consequences for others supporting their “enemies.” Shukla was allegedly run over on the night of June 22 by occupants of an SUV following a dispute over toll payment.

In a major development in the six-month-old attempt-to-murder case involving Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De) leader Jaswant Singh Cheema, the Khanna Police have alleged that the reported attack on him by two bike-borne armed assailants was a fabricated incident. According to the investigation, Cheema and an associate allegedly hatched a criminal conspiracy and concocted the story of the murderous attack. Consequently, Cheema, who was initially the complainant in the case, has now been named as an accused. His associate has been arrested, while Cheema is reportedly absconding.

Police arrested Jaskarn Singh alias Karn, a native of Dhanaula in Barnala district, Punjab, who was residing in Noida, Uttar Pradesh (UP), and working as an AC mechanic, in connection with an extortion case in Chandigarh. The case was registered after a city jeweller reported on June 20 that he had received a threatening WhatsApp message demanding INR 5 lakh in the name of gangster Goldy Dhillon. During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed that financial difficulties had prompted him to devise the extortion scheme after watching videos related to the recent firing incident at a medical hall in Sector 11, Chandigarh. According to police, he obtained the mobile numbers of four jewellers through internet searches and sent threatening messages posing as a gangster associate.

On June 23, a notorious criminal, Satyapal alias Sattu, who had escaped from Ludhiana Jail in Punjab on February 6, was arrested following an exchange of fire with police in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh (UP). The encounter occurred during a vehicle-checking operation when police intercepted his car. During the exchange of fire, Satyapal sustained injuries, while two police constables were also injured by gunfire. The accused was subsequently taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
