Balwant Singh Rajoana, a death row convict in the assassination case of former Chief Minister Beant Singh, on November 20, urged Sikhs to unite and strengthen their organisations while speaking at the bhog (prayer meet) for his late brother Kulwant Singh in Rajoana Kalan village, Ludhiana district. Criticising internal politics and alleging conspiracies against the Sikh community, Rajoana, who has been imprisoned since December 1995, was granted three hours of parole by the Punjab and Haryana High Court to attend the prayer meet following his brother's death on November 4.

Ajay and Sagar, wanted in a murder case since April 2023, had been evading arrest for 13 months, while Jasbir Singh, a drug peddler, had been on the run for six years with multiple Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act cases against him.

The Malerkotla police, on November 20, directed teams handling Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act cases to improve collaboration with revenue officials to dismantle the district's drug networks. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gagan Ajit Singh noted that such joint efforts have enabled the attachment of properties worth INR 12 crore linked to accused individuals in 16 drug-related cases this year. These measures aim to deter petty criminals and monitor the financial activities of drug traffickers effectively.
