Khalistani terrorist and Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, in a video message on April 23, claimed that the recent deadly attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, was a false flag operation allegedly orchestrated by India's intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW). He accused National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval of supervising the attack, with alleged backing from Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister (UHM) Amit Shah. Pannun further appealed to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to conduct a plebiscite in Kashmir.

Punjab Police, on April 23, on day 54 of its "Yudh Nashian Virudh" campaign, arrested 104 drug smugglers and recovered 3.4 kg of heroin, 1,671 kg of poppy husk, and INR 8.3 lakh in drug money from their possession across Punjab. With this, the total number of drug smugglers arrested has reached 7,187 in just 54 days.

Tarn Taran Police on April 23 busted a major weapon smuggling module and arrested two smugglers, identified as Sukhdev Singh alias Dev and Swarn Kumar alias Ghoda and seized one Glock 9 mm pistol, one PX5 .30 calibre pistol, seven live cartridges, and three empty shells from their possession in Sarai Amanat Khan, Tarn Taran district. Authorities revealed that both smugglers were in direct contact with Pakistan-based smugglers and were supplying arms to Tarn Taran and adjoining districts in Punjab.

Punjab Police on April 21 arrested two individuals, identified as Balkar Singh and Pawandeep Singh, and registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Lakhdeep Singh Sardargarh, after uncovering a conspiracy to attack Union Home Minister (UHM) Amit Shah, Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia, in Moga district. The plot was revealed through leaked screenshots of a WhatsApp group allegedly supporting radical Khalistani preacher and jailed Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, who is currently lodged in Dibrugarh Jail in Assam. The FIR has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the Information Technology (IT) Act, as police probe suspected links to anti-national activities and foreign-funded conspiracies.

On April 21, former president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Manjit Singh GK, is scheduled to appear before the Rouse Avenue Court in New Delhi as a witness against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in connection with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case. In 2018, GK had released a sting video in which Tytler allegedly admitted to his involvement in the killings at Pul Bangash Gurdwara. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) subsequently designated GK as a prosecution witness, and forensic analysis confirmed the authenticity of the video.
