On July 6, a video surfaced on social media of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the chief of the Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), standing outside the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York City, United States (US), threatening Indian diplomats. The video is allegedly taken on July 5, wherein Pannun blamed Indian diplomats for the death of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani terrorist and the chief of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), while urging Sikhs to vote on a Khalistan referendum. Pannun also admitted to being responsible for the creation of "kill posters" targeting Indian diplomats stationed in Canada, the United Kingdom (UK), and the US. 'Yes, we will hold Sandhu-Verma-Doraiswami-Malhotra-Vohra, the Indian diplomats in the US, Canada, UK, Italy, and Australia accountable for the assassination of Shaheed Nijjar,' Pannun said in the video. He further stated that the Sikh community would besiege Indian embassies worldwide on August 15.
