Through crowdsourcing, the NIA ascertained the identities of the accused, who were allegedly radicalized online in Punjab and Haryana before being sent abroad to carry out the attacks. The investigation is expanding to explore links to fundraising, smuggling, trafficking, and broader instances of radicalization, with collaboration between the NIA and San Francisco authorities.
