The NIA provided information on the nexus between terrorists and organized criminal syndicates. Currently, the FBI is aggressively investigating the case. In September 2023, the NIA released photos of 10 individuals wanted for the attack. The incident involved pro-Khalistan entities illegally entering the consulate premises, attempting to set it afire, and assaulting officials.
